Connect to Learn Philippines Teacher Training Program

In response to the increasing need for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) training among teachers, Ericsson developed the Teach with Technology course, combining e-learning modules and virtual reality (VR) simulations. This was implemented through the Connect to Learn Teacher Training Program in partnership with Qualcomm Wireless Reach, Smart Communications, and Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP). For this initiative, ACTRC served as Ericsson’s Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) partner for the developed course.

The Connect to Learn Teacher Training Program aimed to prepare 676 in-service teachers from the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Muntinlupa to integrate ICT into classroom instruction and build core professional competencies for 538 pre-service teachers at the Philippine Normal University (PNU).

Pre- and post-training assessments, lesson plans, and classroom observations revealed that the 436 teachers from both DepEd and PNU who completed the training demonstrated improvements in their knowledge of integrating ICT into lessons, diversification of teaching methods,  effective design of ICT-supported learning activities, and ICT use in fostering collaborative classroom learning.

The program was implemented in November 2023 and completed in September 2024.
