Dr Marie Therese Angeline P. Bustos

Dr. Marie Therese Bustos, an expert in special and inclusive education, is a Professor of Special Education at the University of the Philippines College of Education. Her research covers the K-12 curriculum review, disability within the conditional cash transfer program, baseline studies on disability in indigenous and Muslim communities, and assessments of DepEd schools’ readiness to serve children with disabilities in marginalized areas. Previously, she was Dean of the UP College of Education, the immediate past Philippine director of the Assessment, Curriculum and Technology Research Centre, and System Director of the UP Ugnayan ng Pahinungod/Oblation Corps volunteer service program. Currently, Dr. Bustos serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Basic Education of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM2) and the Technical Panel on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Needs Education of the Commission on Higher Education. Dr. Bustos was recently recognized as UP Social Scientist I (CY 2024-2026).
