As a member of the Evidence for Education (E4E) Coalition, the Assessment, Curriculum, and Technology Research Centre (ACTRC) expresses its support for Project Bukas, which will be officially launched by the Department of Education (DepEd).
Project Bukas represents a commendable initiative by the Department to advance data transparency and empower stakeholders by making available key data such as learning outcomes and school characteristics. This initiative reflects DepEd’s commitment to fostering an informed and participatory education sector.
ACTRC fully supports the Department’s efforts toward open data and shares in its overarching goals: to enhance the effectiveness of the education sector, to empower stakeholders, to promote accountability, to lay the groundwork for evidence-informed reforms, and to ensure access to quality education for all.
With the launch of Project Bukas, research institutions such as ACTRC will be better positioned to conduct meaningful and impactful research that informs policy and practice. We reaffirm our support for DepEd’s Project Bukas and its vision of achieving quality education through data-driven research, transparency, and inclusive stakeholder engagement.
