Dr Marlene B. Ferido
Dr Marlene Ferido has served as ACTRC’s Philippine Curriculum Project Leader since the Centre was established in 2013. She is a Science Education Specialist V and the Chair of the Chemistry Education Group of the National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (NISMED) at the University of the Philippines-Diliman, and the leader of the ACTRC’s project on the Progress of Students through the Science Curriculum: A Focus on Matter (Chemistry).
Her work includes roles as a curriculum developer, teacher trainer and advisor on professional development and teacher training programs in different parts of the Philippines and abroad. She has also been a speaker, lecturer, and presenter at national and local conferences, seminars, and workshops; a writer and contributor to team-developed publications of UP NISMED; and a researcher and project leader in various science education projects with UNESCO Bangkok, the Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education (Japan), the Canada-Pakistan Basic Education Project (CPBEP), the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), and the UP College of Education.
